Born June 18, 1915, he was the son of the late John and Victoria Winchester DeHart. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nina Conner DeHart; brother, Joseph Kale DeHart Sr.; sister, Mary Eliza Seay; son, Kenneth DeHart; and grandsons, Chad Callahan and Lance Casebolt.
Carroll worked in tunnels most of his life but was also an avid farmer who loved his work. For many years he was involved with the Kirklands Creek Community Club and also worked with the 4-H Club.
