Hollis Donald "Doc" Adams, age 84, died Saturday, February 25, 2012. Doc was a member of Victory Baptist Church and the Top of the Mark Sunday School Class. He was a 1945 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School and a veteran of the Army Air Corps. Doc and his brother, Vale Adams opened Adams Gulf Service Station on Lebanon Road in 1949. They had a lot of nationwide repeat customers. He worked alongside his wife, Betty from 1954 until the service station closed in 1993. His sons went to work at the service station when they were 10 years old and worked there until they were 18. Doc always had a good work ethic. He was the son of the late Roscoe Lewis and Lura Daisy Craddock Adams. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Vale and John Caswell Adams; sister, Veda Mae Loveless; two infant siblings. He is survived by wife of 58 years, Betty J. Adams; two sons, two daughter-in-laws, one sister, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Following services at Victory Baptist Church, interment will be in Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.
