Gene leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years; Marie, in the loving arms of their children; Sandy, Terry, Mike, Kathy, Jennie and Peggy, twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his bothers, Jerry and Keith; sisters, Carol and Lois.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00am, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church. Visitation will be 10:00am prior to the service at the church. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Mausoleum with full Military Rites provided by the U.S. Navy and Gaston County Honor Guards.
