Mr. DeWitt Talmadge Mitchell, 44, went to be with his Lord in Jacksonville, FL on January 12, 1941 as a result of an automobile accident. He was a former resident of Danville, VA and a carpenter.

He is survived by wife Mrs. Bessie Mae Pritchett Mitchell and one daughter Sarah Preston Mitchell of Danville and three sons John Sanford Mitchell of Danville and Charles Wesley Mitchell and Clarence Morris Mitchell both of Norfolk, VA.

He is survived by mother Mrs. William Henry Mitchell of Danville.

He is also survived by three brothers Henry C Mitchell and Hugh Irvin "Major" Mitchell both of Danville and Joseph Elton Mitchell of Glenwood and three sisters Madie Ellen Mitchell Childress of Danville, Rosa Lee Mitchell Collins, of Dry Fork, VA and Miss Ruby A Mitchell of High Point, NC.

Funeral services were conducted at Rocky Mount, NC. Interment was in Pineview Cemetery, South Rocky Mount, NC.
