JOSEPH ABRAHAM, MERCHANT, DIES

Joseph Abraham, 72, of 737 Central Avenue, a merchant here for more than 30 years, died yesterday in a Charleston hospital after an illness of a few weeks.

Mr. Abraham came to the United States from Lebanon at the age of 10 and came to Charleston in 1918.

His place of business, Abraham's Market, was at Central and Park avenues.

He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Survivors: a daughter, Miss Lillian Abraham, at home; three sons, Lifty and Louis of Charleston, and George of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Mrs. Saline Fled of Hamenna, Lebanon; and two grandchildren.

The body is at Owen and Barth Funeral Home chapel where the rosary will be recited tomorrow at 8 p.m.

A requiem high mass will be celebrated Monday at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church. The Rev. Fr. Cuthbert Schoeppner will be the celebrant and burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
