FATALLY STRICKEN WHILE AT HIS WORK

Charles Franklin Kessler, Aged 62, Dies Suddenly At Folmer Ice Cream Company's Plant

Charles Franklin Kessler, aged 62 years, who resided at the Five Points Restaurant, East Walnut Street, died suddenly this afternoon about 12:30 o'clock while at work in the plant of the Folmer Ice Cream Company, West Middle Street. Death was due to a heart attack.
Mr. Kessler had suffered from a heart condition for some time and had been under the care of his physician. He worked as usual this morning and had not complained of feeling ill. When he failed to come down from the motionizing room, where he had been working, to go for his lunch, Paul Baumgardner, a fellow employee went to investigate and found him dead. He had apparently been stricken while cleaning a vat and was found in a sitting position on some pipes which had been behind him.
Mr. Kessler was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Kessler, and was born August 3, 1883. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Church, Spring Avenue and Locust Street, and fraternally was affiliated with Hanover Aerie, No. 1406, Fraternal Order of Eagles; Hanover Lodge No. 227, Loyal Order of Moose; Washington Camp No. 328, Patriotic Order Sons of America; the Paul E. Lau Commandery No. 66; Defiance Commandery No. 330, Knights of Malta; Constantine Castle No. 142, Ancient Order Knights of the Mystic Chain, and Pride of Hanover Council No. 135, Sons and Daughters of Liberty.
His wife, who before marriage was Annie Freet, preceded him in death about two years ago. Surviving him are two sons, Curvin H. Kessler, 18 West Hanover Street, and Richard C. Kessler, Lincoln Hotel, York; three grandchildren; one brother, Harvey Kessler, Chambersburg; one sister, Mrs. Nora Nace, York Street; his step-mother, Mrs. Lucinda Kessler, Bair's Station; four half-sisters, Mrs. William Lightner and Mrs. Maggie Warner, both of Hanover R.D.; Mrs. Ernest Sterner, Jefferson, and Mrs. Alvin Dubs, Bair's Station, and one half-brother, Luther Kessler, Locust Street.
Funeral arrangements, in charge of Funeral Director William A. Feiser, are incomplete.
