Mrs. Janie Mae (Roach) Parker, 72, of Newport departed this life on Friday, February 17, 2012. She was born December 28, 1939 at Algoa, the daughter of Marlen Franklin and Edra Ellene (Snyder) Roach. She married Mr. Forrest C. Parker on December 23, 1984, and they enjoyed twenty-seven years together.

Mrs. Parker worked in the dietary department at Newport Hospital 9 ½ years until her retirement, and had worked for C&C Beverage as a receptionist 4 ½ years, and over ten years, at White River PCA.

She had attended Melton's Modern School of Business of Jonesboro. Mrs. Parker was a member of the Church of Christ of Belief. She enjoyed fishing, trot lining, playing cards, computer games, soap operas, and loved to bowl. She loved her pets and enjoyed going to Tunica and Oaklawn.

Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Johnny Roach, Ralph Roach, Gary Donald Roach, and William Ray Roach; and one sister, Mary Francis Roach.

She is survived by her husband, Forrest Calvin Parker; one son, one daughter, one brother, and four grandchildren.
