John told his grandson, Don that his North family died of Yellow Fever leaving John an orphan. John's granddaughter, Penny was told John was found in a basket and raised by the North's. DNA leads John's great granddaughter to believe Alexander William and Mary Clementine (Parker) Watson are John's biological parents. In 1870, Mary and Alex lived near each other in Blue Bayou, Arkansas. Alex was 15 and a farmer. Mary was 17. Mary and Alex married in 1874. (John's great granddaughter matches DNA with all the Watson/Parker family.) In 1880, 13 year old John North lived in Bayland Orphan's Home in Harris County, Texas. John left the orphanage in his teens. Reverend Jim Williams married Mary Ada Harris of Sunset, Texas and John Andrew North of Alvord, Texas Saturday, June 28, 1896 at 10 o'clock. Their marriage was witnessed by Anna Morgan and Lee Polson. Homer was born in 1897 and died in 1898. In 1900, John was farming in Indian Territory with Ada and daughter, Georgia Velma. Georgia died in 1901. Vivian Inez was born and died in 1902. Roy was born in 1904 and Walter in 1908. In 1910, John and Ada were living in Wilson, Oklahoma with sons, Roy and Walter. John Earl was born in 1923. John continued to live in Carter County the rest of his life.
