His first wife died and it affected him greatly. It is not known at this time who she was. In 1943, he married Martinia Higarie in Reno, Nevada. They had one son born to their union. John Earl was a cab driver for Union Cab in Ardmore in 1957. He married Emma "Dean" Ragan and they had two sons and a daughter born to their union. Later, he married Dorothy. They had no children.
