Mr. Billy John Padgett, 61, of Old Town passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 at North Florida Regional Medical Center.
Bill was born on November 3, 1950 to Cecil and Eileen Padgett. He was a lifetime resident and graduated from Dixie County High School in 1971. For the past 11 years he worked for Mayo Fertilizer as their shop foreman. For the 35 years prior to that he was shop foreman for Anderson-Columbia. He was a member of the Suwannee River Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, go-cart racing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Betty Sue Padgett of Old Town; daughters, Jennifer (Chris) Mundhenk of Tallahassee, FL and Joannie (Joe) Morse of Old Town; father, Cecil Padgett of Old Town; sisters Linda (Jim) Raposa of Chesapeake, VA and Kathleen (Tony Kirk of West Palm Beach, FL and 4 grandchildren.
A visitation was held on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home between the hours of 5 and 7pm.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 11:00am at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jarrett Thomas officiation. Interment followed at Old Town Cemetery.
