Florence - Dr. James Gresham Gibson Sr., 69, died Thursday at a Florence hospital.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire Funeral Home.
Dr. Gibson was born in Marion County, a son of the late James W. Gibson and Mrs. Jannie H. Gibson. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was a veterinarian and owner of Gibson Animal Hospital. He was a member of the Veterinarian Association and a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Mary Martha Moore Gibson of Florence; two sons, Dr. George E. Gibson of Stone Mountain, Ga., and James G. Gibson of Florence; two brothers, Harvey Gibson of Marion and William H. Gibson of Centenary; five grandchildren.
