Charles Boyd "Bill" Smith, 71 of Harrisonburg, and formerly of Elkton, passed away February 15, 2012 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.

Mr. Smith was born January 18, 1941 in Rockingham County, and was the son of the late Cecil Williams and Anna Smith.

Charles was a United States Army Veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of and served as secretary for the Eagles # 4150 in Harrisonburg. He retired from McQuay Inc. as supervisor and enjoyed flowers, gardening, cards (gin), and fishing.

On October 5, 1991 he married Dorothy (Dottie) M. Smith who survives. Also surviving are daughters, Kimela Smith, Harrisonburg and Jennifer Linkous, Charlottesville; step daughters, Julie Seal, Shenandoah, Lisa Turner & husband, Eddie, Elkton, a son, David Chadwick Smith, Harrisonburg; brothers, Mike Williams, Steve Williams, Nuggett Williams, Marty Davis all of Shenandoah, Robby Davis, Donnie Williams, both of Elkton; sisters, Sue Lucas, Shenandoah, Connie Davis, Elkton; six grandchildren, Chadwick Wescott, Lauren Linkous, John Linkous, Tyler Turner, Whitney Turner and Channin Seal; one great-granddaughter, Emmalyn Williams; a very special friend, Wade Craun; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 Saturday afternoon February 18, 2012 at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton. The Rev. L.J. "Dickie" Campbell Jr. and Larry Sullivan will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton.

The family will receive friends 7 to 8 pm Friday evening at the funeral home in Elkton.
