Rites Held For Mrs. Singletary Of Shelbyville
Funeral services for Mrs. Celia Singletary of Shelbyville were held March 27 at 2 p.m. in Mangum Chapel with Rev. Ronald Johnson officiating, assisted by Dr. J. Carroll Chadwick. Burial was in the Oaklawn Memorial Park cemetery.
A native of Shelby County, Mrs. Singletary died March 25 in Shreveport, La. She was 62 years old.
Surviving are her husband, Marshall Singletary of Shelbyville; a son, Damon Singletary of Shelbyville; two daughters, Mrs. Joan Williams of Shelbyville and Mrs. LaNell Goodson of Jasper; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Cain of Shelbyville and Mrs. Levi Forbis of Center.
Serving as pallbearers were Pete Brittain, Lath Holt, T.O. Ellington, B.E. Gillispie, Ben Matthews, Emmitt Richards, Gordon McDonald and O.F. Adams.

They were married on December 18th, 1929 in Shelby County, Texas. They had four children; two daughters, Joan Elizabeth and Babbie LaNell, and two sons Marshall Damon and Archie.
-Daughter, Joan Elizabeth Singletary was born November 8th, 1931 in Shelby County, Texas. She married Bolie Calvin Williams, Jr. on November 21st, 1969 in Shelby County, Texas. Her husband passed away on December 18th, 2009 (#48396110).
-Daughter, Bobbye Lanell Singletary was born March 19th, 1939 in Shelby County, Texas. She married Douglas Bennett Goodson on May 14th, 1958 in Shelby County, Texas.
