She was preceded in death by her parents, P.F. and Stella Bowlin Redmon as well as brothers Preston, Dean, and Arthur Redmon, sister Oneva Redmon Parker, and her first born daughter Deborah Ann Faulkner.
Mrs. Faulkner was born on Halloween of 1933 on the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC, where her father was a dairy farmer. After high school she attended Blanton's Business College, and at 19 began employment for Nabisco Brands, until retiring in 1992.
In 1957, she married Bruce Faulkner, who will celebrate his 78th birthday on Tues., Feb. 14th, 2012, and celebrated 54 years of marriage on November 16, 2011. She loved to travel, and together during their marriage they traveled extensively to the 48 contiguous states and also to British Colombia and Nova Scotia, Canada.
Ruby loved the Lord with all her heart and made it a daily practice to awaken at 4:30 am each morning for devotions, which she continued up until Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Darlene Penland and husband David; special son Colin Thornley; and grandson Ryan Landon.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm Sunday, February 12, 2012, at Bent Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Tommy Bridges, Rev. Dr. Ian Walker, and Rev. Dr. David Desforge officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
