Born in Wilmington on March 19, 1948, Philip was a graduate of St. Anthony's Grade School, Salesianum High School and the University of Delaware where he graduated with a BS in Finance. He served in the Army's 158th Battalion as a crew chief of a Hughie Gunship as a Spec 5. For much of his life, Phil was a restaurateur, owning or managing The Sub Factory, Fran O'Brien's, Ship's Tavern, and Slickers in Rehoboth, The Starboard in Dewey and Dorian's Restaurant in Wilmington and Rehoboth.

Phil was a longtime active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Club and the Piedmont Lodge. He started working at St. Anthony's Carnival as a kid and continued working through later years. He occasionally worked at the Port of Wilmington as a forklift operator.

He is survived by a brother, Joseph S. (Agata); and a sister, Donna L. Nash (Bill Flowers) and his beloved niece and nephews, Jenna Nash, Gregory Nash and Joseph S. Latina III (Lil Joey). He was predeceased by his father, Joseph S. Latina in 1970 and most recently his mother, Johanna (Jennie) Latina in November.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning, February 13, at 9 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th & DuPont St. Wilm. Calling hours for Phil are Sunday evening after 7 pm at the Corleto-Latina Family Center, 807 N. Union St. Burial will follow Mass at 11 am in the Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery, Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, Phil's family encourages you to consider at contribution in his memory to Salesianum High School, 1801 N. Broom St., Wilm., DE 19802.
