Norma J. Pedigo Kessen, 78, of Lafayette, died Thursday, February 9, 2012, at her residence.

She was born February 21, 1933, in Lafayette, to the late Forrest and Ferba Burton Haynes.

Norma graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School. On September 28, 1952, she married Morris R. Pedigo in Lafayette, and he preceded her in death in 1969. She then married George Kessen in Lafayette, and he preceded her in death in 1987.

Norma worked as a nurse's aid at the Indiana Veterans Home for 23 years, retiring in 1999.

She was a member of Harvest Chapel and believed in Jesus and enjoyed reading her Bible. Her children cherished her and are grateful for having her as mother. Norma loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her friends. She enjoyed old Westerns, especially John Wayne.

Surviving are her children, Brian Pedigo (wife: Linda), Lana Pedigo and Lisa Pedigo, all of Lafayette; a brother, William Haynes of Indianapolis; her grandchildren, Alex Nelson, Jessica Bishop and Aaron Pedigo; great-grandchildren, Brenton Holderfield and Cason Holderfield; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Haynes and Winona "Nonie" Haynes, both of Lafayette. Norma was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Pedigo; 3 brothers, Forrest Jr. "Buddy," Kenny and Clarence Haynes; and 2 sisters. Pauline Halstead and Helen Fultz.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Randall Griffith officiating. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park. Leave condolences at www.soller-baker.com.
