William Leonard Johnson was born on August 14, 1956 in Denver, Colorado to Henry and Dorothy (Underhill) Johnson. He was the fourth son of five sons born to the couple during their marriage.

The family was raised in a suburban home in unincorporated Adams County, and the boys attended Ranum High School. Bill joined the US Army on October 6, 1976, and was eventually stationed at Enewetak Atoli in the Marshall Islands. The islands are near the Equator in the Pacific Ocean, slightly west of the International Date Line. He was discharged from the Army on October 5, 1979 and returned home to Denver, Colorado.

Bill was a fun loving guy who had a ton of friends, both male and female. He was always the life of the party and loved to have a few beers and play cards way into the night.

Bill passed away in Dillon, Colorado and was laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery. He was survived by his parents, four brothers, many aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members and friends.
