"J. C. Abbott, 1307 Ross Street, 59 years old, died at 7:30 this morning in the Wabash Hospital in Moberly where he was taken for treatment following a stroke two days ago. He was passenger agent here for the Wabash Railroad Company for twenty years preceding his loss of health last August. He was born in Illinois near East St Louis, and came here to become agent.
Mr. Abbott is survived by his widow; one daughter, Mrs. H. G. Tilley of San Diego, Calif.; and two sons, Cleo Abbott of Phoenix, Ariz., and Clement Abbott of San Diego, Calif. He also leaves five brothers and two sisters, none of whom live in Columbia.
