James V Holland was the son of George M Holland (1884-1963) and Grace "Crane" Holland (1900-1972). He married Helen "Christina" Booth on June 17, 1965 in Pine Village, IN. She died Nov 11, 1997 in West Lafayette, IN.

Jim had one son, William and five granddaugthers. He also had two brothers, William Paul (1923-2003), Thomas E (1925-2003) and four sisters, Dorothy Milligan (1918-2011), Rosalie Raney (1931-?), Wanda Colvin (1939-2014) and Mary Lou Sims.

He served in the Army 341st Engineering Combat Battalion, 3rd Army under Gen. George Patton. He served in the Battle of the Bulge, and his battalion started the work on laying the grade for ALCON Highway to Alaska after combat in Europe.

Jim was a nurse at Indiana Veterans' Home for 30 years before retiring.

He was member of The Church of the Blessed Sacrament and the American Legion.
