Veronica was known as Doris by her family and friends. She died at the age of 90 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, New York.
Doris was the daughter of Peter and Katherine (Wojciechowski) Fita Palaszynski. She grew up with her siblings: Lottie, Irene, Anna, Mary and Thaddeus. Doris attended local schools.
Doris married Victor Terry and raised a son, Larry in the City of Niagara Falls, New York. Richard was Doris' adopted son. Richard and Larry were best friends.
Doris was a cashier and bookkeeper for the Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company for twenty years. After the closing of the A&P, she was office manager. She was also employed as the office manager and bookkeeper for the former Mulligan Contracting and later as a sales person for Laurenda's Bake Shop on Buffalo Avenue and demonstrator at Tops Markets.
Doris was a 50+ year member of the former Our Lady of the Rosary RC Church where she served as president of the Senior Citizens Group for 15 years and also president of the Women's Guild. She was past president of the American Legion Portage Post #1465 Ladies Auxiliary, past historian of the Niagara County American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Echo Club and a life member of the Echo Singing Society and loan officer for the Echo Credit Union.
Doris had a very good sense of humor. She loved to play cards and go out to lunch. Doris always had a funny story to tell of something that happened to her. She was liked and loved by everyone she had contact with.
