Mrs. Carrie Wood.

Mrs. Carrie Wood, aged 76, died at 10:15 o'clock Saturday night at her home on North Eighth street from injuries received three weeks ago by falling against a piece of furniture at her home. The violence of the fall resulted in concussion, and for several days past, her life had been slowly ebbing away.

Mrs. Wood was born in Christian county November 24, 1855, but came to Paducah with her parents when very young, and had practically spent her whole life here. She was married to Captain Wm. Wood, a well known steamboat man who died years ago. She had two sons, Chief James J. Wood, of the Paducah Fire Department, one of the most popular men in the city, and Richard Wood, a well known leatherworker. One sister, Mrs. Laura Roberts, of Bandana, who had been here at the bedside of the deceased since she was injured, and two granddaughters, Mrs. Gus Rogers and Miss Elizabeth Weiss, also survives her.

Mrs. Wood was a well known and highly respected Christian lady, good and charitable towards all, and one who will be greatly missed.

The funeral took place this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family residence. Rev. G. W. Perryman conducted the service and the burial was at Oak Grove.
