PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- Clifford J. Reuter, 84, of Platteville, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at Gray's Nursing Home, Platteville.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, with the Rev. Arnold Reuter officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Platteville, where chapel military rites will be accorded. Friends may call from 4 to 7:30 p.m. today at Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home & Crematory, where there will be a parish rosary recited at 3:45 p.m. Friends also may call after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He was born on April 6, 1927, in Grant County, son of John and Rose Mae (Wunderlin) Reuter. Clifford served in the Army during the Korean conflict.
He married Loretta Klein on April 28, 1956, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Dickeyville.
Clifford farmed in Platteville Township. He did custom work for many years. Clifford also worked for many years as an electrician for Bob Pitts.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.
Surviving are his wife, Loretta; sisters, Loretta Miesen, Dorothy (Herb) Klein and Velma (Leonard) Melssen, all of Platteville, Anna (Gene) Stelpflug, of Dickeyville, and Rosemary Reuter, of Platteville; a brother, John (Rose Marie) Reuter, of Platteville; brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clinton; sisters, Wilma and Matilda; and brothers-in-law, Emil Miesen and Joe Fuerstenberg.
