MARTINEZ, Ga. - Freddie Donnie Blackburn, age 62, of Martinez, entered into rest on Friday morning, October 17, 2003, at his residence. A native of Statesboro, he had moved to the Augusta area as a child and remained in the area thereafter. Mr. Blackburn had retired in 1991 at a Foreman with Augusta Newsprint after 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Naval Veteran. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Betty Blackburn, Martinez; his mother, Mrs. Lottie Blackburn, Martinez; sons, Michael Blackburn, Waynesboro, Gerald Blackburn, Martinez; two daughters, Denise Bailey, Grovetown, Deborah McCall, Martinez; one brother, Leonard Blackburn Jr., Augusta; one sister, Gail Kelly and her husband, Ricky, Hephzibah; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and six nieces and nephews.
