Loren J. Miller, 81, Bois D'Arc, a retired builder, died Sunday in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield. He was a faithful husband to Miriam Lois for over 56 years and father to his eight children plus foster kids that considered him "Dad". He was a member of Elwood A/G-New Vision Ministries for 36 years. He served his country in the Pacific Theater in World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Ida Miller. He is survived by his wife, Miriam Lois of the home, and children Luther Milo (& Jann), Laurel James (& Tunde), Priscilla Lynne Peterson, Pam Squires, Lyle (& Ramona), Lonnie (& Jebi), Lloyd (& Sheila), and Penny Davison (& Jim). His eight siblings also survive him, Eileen Keehr, Dorothy Peterson, Dennis Miller, Melda Miller, Lou Crawford, Eldon Miller, Roger Miller, and David Miller. He has 44 grandchildren and their spouses, 8 great-grandchild, 89 nieces, nephews and their families. Services are today in Elwood Assembly of God Church, Elwood, with burial in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, under direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
