Surviving are his loving wife of 70 years, Martha Edwards Wilson; two daughters: Eudine Omron, of Bald Mountain and Lillian Tomberlin and husband, David, of Burnsville,; three sons: Elbert Wilson and wife, Marilyn, of Burnsville, Allan Wilson and wife, Donna, of Jacks Creek and Thomas Wilson and wife, Susan, of Bald Mountain; two sisters: Edith Stuart and Coleen "Glassie" Ball, both of Charlotte, four brothers: J.D. Wilson, Steve Wilson, Burnis Wilson and Michael Wilson, all of Tennessee, 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 5 great, great-grandchildren and numerous nice and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Revs. Eugene Duyke, Steve Wilson and Denny Wilson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the family home on Hootowl Hollow Road in Bald Mountain. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday in the Wilson Cemetery on Eagles Ridge Road.
