James LeRol Bishop, 85 of Marietta died Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital following a brief illness. Interment was at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery, Marietta, GA.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley & Peggy Bishop of Marietta; Samuel & Candie Bishop of Soddy Daisy, TN; Thomas & Gloria Bishop of Albany; daughter & son-in-law, Glenda & Norris Wood of Jasper; brother & sister-in-law, Eugene & Ann Bishop of Lexington, KY; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bishop was an Army veteran of WWII and retired from Hertz Corporation as Operation Manager. He was a member of the First United Methodist of Marietta for 57 years where he was a Sunday school teacher, Boy Scout Master and a member of the Order of Arrow. Mr. Bishop coached Little League and Pony League Baseball in Marietta. He was a former member of the Marietta Lions Club and a Master Mason, Masonic Lodge Kennesaw #33 F&AM for 60 years and was a 32nd Degree Mason.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 56 Whitlock Avenue, Marietta, GA 30064 in memory of Mr. Bishop.
