TJ was born on July 16, 1991 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, but spent most of his life in the Rockingham County area. He attended Spotswood High School and graduated from Dodge Ridge High School in West Union, West Virginia in June, 2009. TJ loved the outdoors camping and fishing, visiting amusement parks, hanging out with friends, listening to the music of Jason Aldean, and supporting his favorite NFL team, the San Diego Chargers.
Surviving are his beloved mother, Tena Mae Painter of Elkton; father, Thomas R. Blankenship, Sr. of West Union; maternal grandmother and step grandfather, Dorothy Painter Miller and Wilfred Miller of Broadway; sisters, Shana Coleman of Elkton, Ariel Blankenship, and Skye Falls of West Union; and brother, Chance Blankenship also of West Union. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by a maternal grandfather, Richard A. Painter, Sr; and paternal grandmother, Patricia Matheny.
Please join his mother and sister in receiving family and friends at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway on Thursday, January 26, from 6-8pm. He will be laid to rest at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens on Friday, January 27 at 2pm with Pastor Richard Early officiating a grave side service. His body will be cremated.
