He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Frank worked as a welder for Fruehoff in Fort Wayne, Slater Steel in Fort Wayne and TFC Canopy in LaOtto. He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville. Frank was an avid reader. He also enjoyed ice fishing, typing flies, cooking, computers, working on family genealogy and watching classic T.V. shows. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Ramanda L. and Anthony Harman of Kendallville; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Sillaway of Kendallville and Jeri Grubb and Matt Cain of Kendallville; seven grandchildren, Jordan Molen, Avin Molen, Ahryan Harman, Drew Sillaway, Kristopher Grubb, Ashley Campbell and Kylie Grubb; two great-grandchildren, Bradyn Campbell and Addison Grubb; three brothers, Jeff and Linda Allen of Big Long Lake, Jack Allen of Lansing, Mich., and Donald Allen of Fort Wayne; four sisters, Kathryn and Ronald Block of North Manchester, Marsha Houser of Fort Wayne, Ramona Tolbert of Fort Wayne and Patricia Allen of Fort Wayne; his companion, Janet Allen of Kendallville; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Roman L. Allen II, and a brother-in-law; Jesse Tolbert Sr.
Visitation will be Monday from 11-2 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville. Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Shriner officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville. Preferred memorils may be made to directed to the family for charities of their choice.
