A Meriwether Co. (GA) native, Rev. Corley was the son of the late Paul Brown Corley and Annie Lee Jewell Corley Rowe. He was a Baptisit minister for many years and a World War I Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife Maxine McGuire Corley of Barnesville (GA) ; 2 sons, Steve of Stockbridge and David of Covington; 3 daughters, Diane Lyle, Darlene Skidmore and Naomi Adams, all of Stockbridge; 2 step-daughters, Sharon Duffy of Stone Mountain and Debbie Almond of Concord; 2 sisters, Miriam Ward of McDonaough and Irene Holbrook of Bessimer City, NC ; 4 brothers, Robert Corley of Locust Grove, Larry Crews of Jonesboro, Curtis Crews of Griffin and Tommy Crews of Bessimer City; 14 grandchildren , 18 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held Thursday, February 7, 2002 at Sherrill-Wilson-Mangha m Funeral Home in Jackson. Rev. George Phillip officiated. Burial was in Rock Springs Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery in Lamar Co.
