*MINERAL WELLS -- Lawrence F. Coy passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009.

Funeral: 3 p.m. Thursday in Laurel Land Funeral Home Chapel of Chimes. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Diabetes Association, 800-342-2383.

Lawrence proudly served in the Army Air Corps during World War II during the liberation of the island of Saipan. After the war, Lawrence worked and attended Texas Wesleyan College while raising his children. He graduated earning his bachelor of science degree. He put his knowledge to work on top-secret projects that to this day are still in place. Lawrence worked for General Dynamics, GSA and the civil service for a total of fifty years. After retirement he traveled and enjoyed his family and grandchildren. He loved the Lord and was a member of Southcliff Baptist Church.

He will be greatly missed by us all.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his loving wife, LaVerne.

Survivors: Children, Laura Lee Nolletti and husband, Jim, Larry Coy and wife, Cheryl, Lanita Ann Smith and husband, Sonny, and Laniece Coy; grandchildren, Bradley, Rachel, Priscilla and Dr. Landon Smith, M.D.; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
