Boyce R. Nesbitt, 90, of 292 Lower Brush Creek Road went to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center with his loving family by his side.

He was lifelong resident of Buncombe County and the oldest living native in the Cane Creek Community.

Mr. Nesbitt retired as a Dairyman where he was former Owner of Cane Valley Dairy and former Co-Owner of Ace Mobile Home Sales. He was currently Co-Owner of Becky's Rest Home, Mountain View and Cane Valley Mobile Home Parks.

Mr. Nesbitt was also a former Auxiliary Deputy with Buncombe County Sheriff Department under Sheriff Tom Morrisey, was a member of the Fairview Lions Club, served on the Fairview VFD Board for numerous years and the Fairview VFD Auxiliary. He was a founder where he served on the board of the Cane Creek Community Center and a board member of the Tweeds Chapel Cemetery Association.

He was an avid NASCAR fan, was a great gardener and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Nesbitt was a son of the late John Baxter Nesbitt and Carmie Marlowe Nesbitt. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Thelma Pittillo and Sue Taylor and brothers, Tom Nesbitt, Marvin Nesbitt, Pat Nesbitt and Bearl Nesbitt.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Conner Nesbitt of the home; daughter, Becky Nesbitt McIntosh and husband Marvin of Fletcher; grandchildren, Carmie May McIntosh, Cheyenne Daniel McIntosh and Clove Lynn McIntosh; his beloved pets, Snowflake, Dutch and Freckles; sisters, Alene Herron of Elkton, MD and Wilma Metcalf and husband Charlie of Cherryville.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Rogers officiating.

Burial will follow in Tweeds Chapel Cemetery with Marvin and Cheyenne McIntosh, Bosco and Barry Lowe, Bill Fisher and J.C. Nesbitt serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be all members of the Fairview VFD and the Board of Directors.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Monday at the funeral home and at other times, the family will be at the residence.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Gregory Pollack and the Fairview VFD and Auxiliary for their love and support.
