Joseph Patrick Adams 77, of Dripping Springs, Texas, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Mr. Adams attended Cathedral High School and Butler University in Indianapolis. He was named All-City and All-State while playing football at Cathedral. He boxed as a youth and in the army following the career of his uncle, Patsy McMahon. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. He started his business career as an executive for Herff Jones, Indianapolis, and retired from Artcraved in Austin, Texas. He enjoyed traveling, collecting, antiques, hunting, fishing, and gardening. Mr. Adams was born May 28, 1932 in Indianapolis, the son of Edward and Anne Adams. He married Carole Miller on November 27, 1954. Surviving are his wife, Suzie; daughters, Jeanne (Mike) Sambrookes, Michigan City, Indiana, Cathy (Randall) Valdivia, Elgin, Illinois, Mary Debbagis, Schererville, Indiana, and Shaun (Dual) Pritchard, Austin, Texas; sons, Tim Adams, Aurora, Illinois, Dan (Marilyn) Adams and Mike (Jean) Adams, both of New Palestine, Indiana, Joe (Vicki) Adams, Pickerington, Ohio, and Tory and Brandon Watts, Austin, Texas; brothers, John Adams, Pittsburg, California and Brendan Adams, Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Anne Redmond; a brother, Edward; and a son-in-law, David Debaggis. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 1 p.m at Nativity Catholic Church, Indianapolis. A Rosary will preceded at 12:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the .
