She was born on Oct. 17, 1911, in Shenandoah and was a daughter of the late Simon G. and Ida Florence Comer Dean.
Mrs. Cook was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Horeb Presbyterian Church. She retired from Western State Hospital and Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center, where she was a dietitian. She also taught baking and cooking at Woodrow Wilson Technical Center.
Her husband, preceded her in death.
She is survived by three sons, Evans P. Cook of Austin, Texas, Dr. James L. Cook of Front Royal and Col. Thomas A. Cook of Weyers Cave; seven grandchildren; and nine –great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was conducted on Aug. 6, 2003 at the Mount Horeb Presbyterian Church's Edgewood Cemetery.
