Clara Marie Grunst was born July 20, 1963, in Fairmont, Minn., the daughter of Jim and Virginia Grunst of rural Carthage. Clara moved to Carthage in February 1964. She attended schools in Carthage until the 11th grade, after which she received her G.E.D. at Missouri Southern State College. She attended First Church of the Nazarene, was a Brownie Scout and a member of the Carthage Junior High Band.
Additional family members are two sisters, Debbi Lewton, Walnut Creek, Calif., and Pam Hartley, Bella Vista, Ark.; two brothers, Tom Grunst, Joplin, Mo., and Jim Grunst, Webb City, Mo.; a niece, Jennifer Siebert, Bentonville, Ark.; a great niece and two great nephews, Bentonville, Ark.; one uncle, Tom Grunst and wife, Alice, of Jackson, Minn.
A Remembrance of Life for Clara Marie Grunst will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 1, 2011, in the Knell Mortuary Chapel, Carthage. Rev. Ed Hamilton will officiate.
