MARION - Edward L. Byrd, 80, died Friday in a Florence hospital. He was a son of the late Jim and Florence Moore Byrd.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Effie Richardson and Mrs. Leland Hewitt of Conway, Mrs. W. H. Calder of Marion, Mrs. T. Freeman George of Latta and Mrs. Charles W. Street of Florence; a son, Eugene Byrd of Marion; four brothers, Liston Byrd of Delcon, N.C., Furman Byrd, Culbert Byrd and Otto Byrd, all of Marion; and four sisters, Mrs. Walter Hunt of Wilmington, N.C., Mrs. Celeste Rhame, Mrs. Mamie Branton and Mrs. Arnie Turner, all of Marion.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Church.
