She was born in Baltimore, Md., on Jan. 26, 1938, the daughter of John S. and Helena (Chell) Morawski.

As a Navy wife, she made a home and raised her family in many parts of the United States and abroad.
Betty and her family moved to Dannemora in 1975, living there until the 1980s, when she and her husband moved to Vergennes, Vt., where she worked with troubled children.
In 1996 Betty returned to the North Country to care for her grandson, Joseph, the joy of her life, whom she homeschooled until the sixth grade.
Betty was an avid gardener, world traveler and an active member of St. Peter's Church.
One of Betty's favorite sayings was "the Blessed Mother will take care of it." Betty was devoted to the Blessed Mother Mary, and we sadly return her to her care.
