Vivian Crane Burt, 85, of Dawsonville died Friday December 28, 2007 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Vivian was born in Dawson County. After high school she graduated from North Georgia College. A teacher in the Dawson County School System, she taught at Emma after which she was the first principal and teacher at the Westside School. She continued teaching after moving to Virginia where she retired from the Fairfax School System in the late 1980's. She returned to Dawson County in 1990. She was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Burt; parents, J. O. "Brock" and Pearl Crane; and sisters, Priscilla Hughes and Jeanette Fausett.
Surviving are her children, Jimmie Sue Burt, Boonsboro, MD, Joseph Burt, Panama City Beach, FL; sisters, Wynell Bennett, Dawsonville, Alene McClure, Dawsonville, Jean Strawn, Dawsonville, Shirley Bearden, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Sascha Wagner, Samuel Burt and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Monday December 31, 2007 at 11 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tim Biddy will officiate. Interment in the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
