Jamie Jean Strickland Allen, 81, of Coolidge passed away December 30, 2011 in Groesbeck. Graveside services will be 11AM, Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Coolidge Cemetery with Chaplain Karen Hulsey officiating.
Jamie was born August 16, 1930 in Coolidge, Texas. She was raised by Maurine Hancock and Tee Lee Moody. After graduating from Coolidge High School, she attended Westminister College in Tehuacana. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Coolidge. Jamie was a full time mother and homemaker until 1970 when she went to work at the Mexia State School. She retired in 1989. She loved working in her yard and garden. She was very much loved and will be greatly missed. How bout them Cowboys!

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby Ryndol Allen; and great-granddaughter, Trinity Judd.

Jamie is survived by two sons, Jon Ryndol Allen and wife, Linda of Teague and Glenn Lee Allen of Coolidge; one daughter, Melissa Jean Chambers and husband, William of Mexia; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Tee and husband Lecil Moore of Irving and Charlse Holmes of Groesbeck and Kathleen Crawford of Waco; one uncle, V. T. Hancock of Irving; and a number of nieces and nephews.
