Dumpy was born February 11, 1923 in Shenandoah and was the daughter of the late Jesse William Campbell and Mamie Virginia Breeden Campbell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Raymond Haugh, Sr., who died June 3, 1991, and son, William Joseph Haugh, who died November 13, 1992, 3 sisters, Mildred L. “Mick” Huffman, Hazel B. Campbell and Shirley M. Croft, and 3 brothers, Jesse “Bugs” Campbell, Jr., Robert L. Campbell, and Roy Lee Campbell.
Dumpy was a member of First Baptist Church of Elkton, Shenandoah Crafters Club, Fellowship of Witnessing Women and the Fellowship Bible Study.
She is survived by one son, Carroll Raymond Haugh, Jr. and wife Karen of Brunswick, Md., one daughter, Patricia Haugh Shifflett and husband Larry of Harrisonburg, 5 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mary A. Comer and husband, Leray “Sonny” of Shenandoah, and Brenda F. Hillard and husband, J. C. of Stanley, one brother, Franklin R. Campbell and wife, Shirley of McGaheysville, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Public funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Jonathan Lamb 11 AM Saturday, November 10, 2018 in the Mausoleum of Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg. A private family gathering will be at 10:15 AM Saturday at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg before the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Elkton, 20913 Blue and Gold Drive, Elkton, Va
