Mary Ann died before her husband wrote his Last Will on the 18th day of October, 1873 in Polk County, Texas. --Polk County Texas Will Book C, Pages 135-138. On November 18, 1873, two witnesses, Wm. B. DeWalt and Samuel Morrison, swore, on November 18, 1873, they witnessed the signature of one, Joel D. Bruce, now deceased, sign his Will and Testament.
Legal records indicat that Mary Ann Bruce died after the 1870 census and before 'the 18th day of October, 1873 and that Joel Dixon Bruce, Sr, died after October 18, and before November 18, 1873 in Polk County Texas.
We have not found the graves of Joel Dixon D. and Mary Ann Bruce at this time.
