Virginia Beach - Robert Michael Kennedy, 54, passed away November 9, 2011 unexpectedly while surveying the waters on his 26' boat in Berlin, MD. Bob was the owner of East Coast Hydrographic Surveyors and consultants, based in Virginia Beach. He was a member of the Surveyor's Association of Virginia. He also attended St. Pius X Catholic Church in Norfolk. He is survived by his parents, Robert J. and Rosemarie Kennedy of Virginia Beach, his son, Rory Kennedy of Richmond, three sisters, Mary Ellen Kennedy of Virginia Beach, Patricia Kennedy of Massachusetts, and Colleen Kellogg of Virginia Beach, several nieces, nephews, good friends and his love, Karen Hageder of Norfolk. He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed. A funeral service will be held on Saturday November 12, 2011 in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Rd Chapel at 2:00 P.M. The family will receive friends from 1-2 P.M. prior to the funeral. Interment will take place at the Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach SPCA or to the American Cancer Society .
