He wrote many lyrics and musical scores for movies such as "Old Buttermilk Sky" from Canyon Passage(1946 with Hoagy Carmichael), and the ever popular "That's Amore" from The Caddy(1953 with Harry Warren). He wrote musical songs for The Patsy, The Ladies Man, Witness For The Prosecution to name but a few. He also wrote musical scores for many of the "surf movies" in the 1960s. He also wrote stand-up comedy for many comedians including Johnny Carson.
