Lillie was the third child born into the family of Charlotta 'Lottie' Cleveland Whitt and John Marion Whitt Jr. There was four boys and two girls; Francis 'Frank', Lloyd, Lillian Mae, Charles, Florence and Clarence.

Florence died from pnemonia at five years old in 1906. Charlotta died from Clarence's birth in 1909. After the death of Charlotta, the family bundled up under blankets and went by horse and wagon six hours from Albion, Nebraska to Hillside Cemetery, Wolbach, Nebraska to lay her to rest. Then the family was sent in all different directions.

Clarence went to live with an aunt and uncle; Mr. and Mrs. T.G. Caudel from Grand Island, Nebraska at the age of four months. They later moved to Sterling, Colorado to make a homestead.

Charles was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Maloney and they moved to Nevada. Charles was given their name and was raised without knowing about his brothers and sisters. He learned about them fifty years later when he discovered some old letters in the attic that were from his oldest brother Frank. Frank had been trying to get in touch with Charles all those years. When Charles found the letters in 1959 he got in touch with Frank and two of his three brothers. Clarence couldn't be there because he had just moved to Spokane, Washington. By the time this family reunion happened Lillian had already died.

Lillian's mother died while she was preteen and she and her brother Lloyd were placed in many different foster homes. One that they were raised in was the home of Albert J. and Mable G. Handley.

Frank stayed with his father, but he raised himself by shining shoes and selling newspapers.

Little more is known about Lillian at this point except that she married Lloyd H. Farran and from this union was born three children. One of these being Evelen 'Farran' Kerrie. Lillian died at age 31, the same age that her mother died.

Any additional information would be appreciated.
