He was a Baptist, a truck driver, and a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WW II in the Army Air Corps. Survivors Alice, six sons Jimmy of Ocoee, Florida, Rick of Lady Lake, Florida, David, Jeff, and Steve of Lakeland, Florida, Butch of Colorado Springs, Colorado, two daughters; Peggy Goodman, Belleview, Florida and Martha Jean Bennett of Tampa, Florida, two sisters; Josephine Bennett and Mary Kate Lancaster, both of Jesup, Georgia and two brothers Raymond of Reidsville, Georgia and Carl of Jesup, Georgia, several grandchildren.
