The Rev. Kinney was born May 31, 1920, in Worcester, Mass., to the late George Herbert and Hope Willson Kinney.
The Rev. Kinney came to the area in 1943 from Providence, R.I., where he graduated from the Providence Bible Institute. He was pastor for the Church of Solsburg near Elkton for 51 years. He was involved in C.B.M. ministries for 57 years. He and his wife, Luella, taught Bible in the public school system for over 50 years.
On June 15, 1943, he married Luella Barr Kinney, who preceded him in death on April 7, 2000.
Survivors include nieces, Elsie Ivester, Alice Childs and Ruth Bartlett; nephews, Irvin, Edwin and Robert Childs and Paul Barr; and a host of extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at the Church of Solsburg with Pastor Josh Shifflett officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Run Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton.
