Grace M. ( Brattin ) Kennedy, 93, died at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Sunday after a lengthy illness. Born in Boston, she was raised in Somervilleand graduated from Somerville High in 1927. She had lived in Medford before moving to Melrose over 55 yrs ago. Grace had been an active member of the First United Methodist Church, the Womens Republican Club of Melrose and the Rebecca Lodge Order of Eastern Star. Kennedy, Grace was the wife of the late Stanford Kennedy who died in 1979. Mother of Robert L. Kennedy & his late wife Nancy of Tewksbury and William S. Kennedy & his wife Alice of Melrose. Grandmother of Leann Kennedy D'Entremont and Robert L. Kennedy Jr of Tewksbury, Bethann Donovan of Everett, William Kennedy and John Kennedy of Melrose. Sister of the late Lorraine Leavitt. Also survived by 6 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held in the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W Foster St, Melrose on Tues Dec 30 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tues prior to the funeral from 10 to 11 AM.. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park , Peabody.
