Word was received Sunday by Beaver friends, of the death of W. L. Detwiler, of Knowles, who was stricken Saturday night with paralysis, death following shortly. William Louis Detwiler was born near Pottstown, Pennsylvania. He was initiated to the Masonic Lodge at Rosston, OK on Aug. 11, 1909. He passed to the Yellow Craft Degree Oct. 13, 1909, and was raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason Nov. 10, 1909. He took the Consistory Work and became a 32nd Degree Mason, at Guthrie, Oct. 17, 1912. He was made a Shriner on May 3, 1916. Funeral services were conducted by the Masonic order and interment was in Zelma Cemetery. Deepest regret is felt by all who knew Mr. Detwiler in his passing. Though ripe in years, his wan an active life and he took a deep interest in the public affairs of his community. The respect in which he was held was best attested by the large number who attended his funeral to pay their last repsects to his memory. School at Knowles was dismissed for Mr. Detwiler was a friend of the children and they loved him.
