Robert Shifflett was born Sept. 4, 1961, in Greene County, and was the son of Charlotte Taylor Jackson and the late Wilmer "Thurman" Shifflett.
For the past 15 years, Robert had been working hard at Walker Manufacturing, providing the best for his family. When he was not working, he enjoyed spending his time and money on his family and grandchildren.
On June 23, 1981, he married the love of his life, Lisa Offenbacker Shifflett, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, April Shifflett Gonzales and husband, Juan, and Stephanie Shifflett and partner, Pablo Rodriguez; four grandchildren, Marcus Gonzales, Kaylee Gonzales, Noah Gonzales and Antonio Mejia; one sister, Amy Shifflett Woodson; stepmother, Bonnie Shifflett; mother-in-law, Elaine Offenbacker; father-in-law, Wayne Offenbacker; two sisters-in-law, Teresa Hensley and husband, Didi, and Lois Holler and husband, James; brothers-in-law, Roger and William Offenbacker and wife, Pat, and numerous extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with pastor Teddy Cave officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Herman Mennonite Church Cemetery in Greene County.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
