Upland, Dec. 5 - Linias Marshall, aged 80 years, whose death occurred Friday at the Grant County Hospital, following an operation, was buried from the Upland Friends Church Sunday afternoon with interment at the Jefferson Cemetery, with Rev. S.A. Woods in charge of the services. Mr. Marshall was probably one of the best known men in this entire community, being one of the few pioneer residents. He was a Civil War veteran, and lived for some time in the Marion Soldier's Home. During the past few years, however, he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Loda Bookout, of Upland. His presence will be missed by a large number of friends, as well as by the following children, all of whom were called here by his death: Mrs. Charles Kirkwood and Thomas Marshall of Hartford City; George Marshall of Linsfield, Mich.; Mrs. Daisy Mormon of Jonesboro; Mrs. Maggie Mang, Mrs. Maude Bookout and Harley Marshall, all of Upland, and Mrs. Carrie Brenner of Muncie. - unknown newspaper
