CUERO - R.B. Tate, 92, of Cuero, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, in Houston.

He was born Oct. 23, 1914, in Yoakum, to the late Elroy and Clara Raska Tate. He was an independent truck driver for years and was also known for his carpenter skills. He was a Baptist.

Survivors: daughters, Gayle Tate Willis of Cuero and Clarence Kuhl and husband Kris of Crosby; sisters, Lucy Morgan of Cold Springs, and Estelle Sayre of Houston; brother, Billy Tate of Edna; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by: wife, Cleo Tate; sisters, Lola Hartman, Gladys Larson, Sybil Edgar, Leona Starr, and Edna Esslenbaun; and brother Wayne Tate.

Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. today at Buffington Funeral Home in Yoakum.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Salem Cemetery, the Rev. Tommy Raska officiating. Buffington Funeral Home, Yoakum, 361-293-2333.
